I'm always inclined to walk over to peoples' offices at work, rather than writing them an email, or calling them. How ridiculous is it to write or call someone that is_twenty_feet from you? How did this become such normal behavior that it rarely seems odd to anyone anymore? Talking, usually, is a lot more effective anyway. Unless people are really busy and you are trying to inundate them with a number of details in a really short amount of time.
Sometimes people are on the phone, though, or meeting with someone. And then you just have to awkwardly stop at their door, turn around, and go back to your desk.
