A Phone Call

On Saturday, October 25, 2008, I received a phone call from a "Professor" at the Central Bank of Nigeria. He let me know that my fee of $5M USD was ready for delivery and that I should check my email for further information. I did not see any relevant email. Perhaps I should call him back. Perhaps I should call Ira Glass and ask what the ethical thing to do is.

R.E.M. - Murmur

On November 25, 2008, the two-CD 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Murmur will be released on I.R.S. / Universal. The two-CD set features R.E.M.'s debut album, remastered, plus an additional disc with a previously unreleased concert recorded at Larry's Hideaway in Toronto, three months after Murmur's April 1983 release.

Plutonium

Plutonium, after Pluto, the planet beyond Neptune; discovered 1940. Plutonium was used, instead of uranium, in several of the first atomic bombs. In one of the codes of wartime physicists, plutonium was referred to as “copper”; copper itself had to be renamed “honest-to-God copper”.
